President Charitable Funds gets bible
04 Nov 2015
The President’s Charitable Trust Fund has received a donation of 160 text Bibles, 500 audio Bibles, soccer balls and P10 000.
The Bible donation was made by Reverend Samuel Makgaola of Assemblies of God on behalf of individuals who purchased them while INSTACABIN donated the soccer balls and cash. Reverend Makgaola further donated three Bibles specifically to the President.
He said one of the Bibles was part of the commemoration for Gideons International, a US based organisation that distributed two billion scriptures worldwide and to every head of state.
Receiving the donations on behalf of the President, the general counsel, Advocate Abraham Keetshabe told the donors that they were fulfilling the biblical promise that ‘blessed is the hand that gives.’
He said they were also fulfilling the Vision 2016 pillars of a compassionate, just and caring nation as well as that of a united and proud nation.
“It is always a source of pleasure to be told that someone wants to give to the needy,” he said.
Advocate Keetshabe further noted that the quality of giving was not measured in quantity, but rather in the spirit of giving willingly.
He said the donations would go a long way in promoting peace as well as touching the lives of many people in many ways.
He said the Bibles would bring joy of being closest to the lord and discovering oneself. Advocate Keetshabe also said the soccer balls would make those who play football forget all the evils, promote oneness and peace. Ends
