VP interacts with dikgosi

02 Nov 2015

The Vice President, Mr Mokgweetsi Masisi, says it is important that he meets dikgosi outside working hours so that they can discuss issues in a relaxed matter.

Speaking during a dinner he hosted for Ntlo ya Dikgosi members at his residence on Sunday (November 1), Mr Masisi said meeting dikgosi in such manner offered them an opportunity to interact and fine tune work related issues.

He said dikgosi should not shy away from meeting him at his workplace or at his official residence to discuss work related issues.

Mr Masisi said, as the Leader of the House, he saw it opportune to host dikgosi more-so that he was unable to interact with them during the Ntlo Ya Dikgosi that ended on Friday.

Chairman of Ntlo ya Dikgosi, Kgosi Puso, said it was unusual for the leadership of the country to host dikgosi for such occasions.

Therefore, he said said such interactions should be more frequent as they enabled dikgosi and the political leadership to discuss issues pertaining to development of the country.

He said said he was pleased that Mr Masisi had made it possible for them to undertake a week-long trip to Selebi Phikwe where they would tour major projects including the SPEDU as well as Dikgatlhong and Letsibogo dams.

In his welcome remarks, the Minister of Presidential Affairs and Public Administration, Mr Eric Molale, called on dikgosi to take a leading role in prayer for rain as the country was undergoing a dry spell. Ends
