BTCL donates to Phase VI school

Botswana Telecommunication Corporation Limited (BTCL) has donated P10 000 to Phase IV Primary School for their victory party celebration.
Speaking at the ceremony, the managing director of BTCL, Mr Paul Taylor noted that they had introduced a significant amount of change to BTCL that includes the introduction of service excellence campaigns within the company and development programmes to build leaders of tomorrow.
Mr Taylor said they have also sent team members to places as far as China and the United States of America to enrich their knowledge and broaden their experience. He said such programmes were intended to develop innovative people who were creative and possess critical thinking skills to make their dreams a reality.
Mr Taylor noted that knowledge was based on societal needs, adding that the rate of change increases dramatically every year demanding that everyone should continue to learn simply to keep pace with change, and to become an active contributor to the role played by communities in development.
He stated that education was not just about learning facts and figures and to write essays, but about moulding young minds to develop their talents and gifts.
Furthermore, he said education was about giving young people the tool kit that they woulld need to face up to the world with confidence.
He applauded teachers and staff and other team members who took the young people in the long journey to success. Ends
