Ministry not in position to replace combi

There are no plans to replace the boarded North East District Council combi as there are no funds, says Assistant Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Ms Botlogile Tshireletso.
Responding to a question at Ntlo Ya Dikgosi, Ms Tshireletso said her ministry recognises the need to have combis in order to transport dikgosi and staff in a dignified manner when they attend meetings in large numbers.
She said her ministry has prioritised the Department of Tribal Administration in resource allocation and would continue to explore the provision of suitable transport alongside other needs when resources permit.
Kgosi Maruje III Masunga of North East Region had asked the assistant minister to explain when the boarded NEDC combi would be replaced. Ends
