21 Oct 2015

Serowe North Member of Parliament Mr Kgotla Autlwetse has appealed to his electorates, especially the youth to position themselves in order to benefit from developments earmarked for their constituency.

Mr Autlwetse informed his constituents that the government intends to construct a road from Serowe to Serule with the aim of decongesting the A1 road that stretches from Ramokgwebana to Ramatlabama.

He also mentioned that it was expected that government will start construction of a dual carriageway from Serule to the south of the country.

Furthermore, the area MP who is also Assistant Minister of Agriculture disclosed that cabinet has decided to cut off some red tapes and expedite the floating of tenders so that contractors may start work before Christmas.

It is as a result of the aforementioned developments that the area MP challenged his constituents especially the youth to position themselves for the likely spinoffs.

He encouraged his electorates to register construction companies and suggested that some could even establish a filling station along the anticipated road in order to benefit from the expected road traffic.

The assistant minister also encouraged the youth to avail themselves in order to benefit from employment opportunities that may arise from some backlog eradication projects under the economic stimulus package programme.

He warned them that with the expected developments Ipelegeng wages would not be increased.

He therefore challenged the youth to even consider sourcing employment outside their villages saying, “Bongwanaka, moswelagaabo ga a jewe…”

Mr Autlwetse pleaded with able-bodied youngsters to swallow pride and egos that come with who and what they are when seeking avenues of eking a living, arguing that it could lead to them shunning opportunities.

“You should feel challenged when seeing your former school and classmates succeeding in life,” he highlighted and further challenged them to consider enrolling with BOCODOL to further their studies.

On other issues Mr Autlwetse observed that his constituents were slow in poverty eradication programmes uptake and wondered “whether life in this constituency was smooth.”

He encouraged adults who still have strength to apply for the programsmesin order to better their lives. Ends
