Zebra Diamonds donates to Thuto Boswa
18 Oct 2015
Zebras Diamonds have donated a poultry house, 100 chickens, 10 sets of computers and a printer, chairs, tables and cabinets worth over P125 000 to Thuto Boswa Rehabilitation Centre. Speaking at the donation, director of Zebras Diamonds Mr Phillipe Roolant said the school was brought to their attention last year.
He said they were informed that the school educates and helps the physically challenged with life skills.
Hence he said when they learned that the school was in need of some assistance, they were very happy to offer their support. For his part, an official from the school, Mr Best Mosadi said the school has 34 students, 15 employees as well as volunteers and is managed by a 10 members board of governors.
Mr Mosadi said for a child to be admitted at the school, such a child must be staying in Ramotswa.
He said they have to stay in Ramotswa mainly because the school does not have hostels to accommodate them, but they transport children to and from school. He said the school is teaching students leather work, horticulture and other life skills programmes.
For his part, Member of Parliament for Ramotswa Mr Samuel Rantuana said they appreciated what Zebras Diamonds has done, because government alone cannot cater for all.
Mr Rantuana said words cannot describe the gesture by the company and added that with the computers leaners can connect to the whole world. Thuto Boswa School was established in 1981 and is taking care of children with disability mostly from Ramotswa. Ends
