Goods estimated at P4 million belonging to Shoppers Supermarket at Kalabeng Mall in Botalaote ward in Mahalapye were burnt to ashes on Saturday (October 10) morning when the shopping complex was gutted by fire.

In an interview with BOPA, acting officer commanding Number 16 Superintendent Olefile Badisang said they received a call  early Saturday  (October 10) that the mall was on fire.

Superintendent Badisang said the inferno also destroyed shoes and other merchandise of Bata and Tala Cash Loan.

Kalabeng shopping complex houses Tala Cash Loan, Shoppers Supermarket, Bata, Mr Price, Pep Stores and FNB ATM.

He said the Fire Department managed to put off the fire and Mr Price, Pep Stores and the FNB ATM were the only ones not affected by the fire.

He said the cause of the fire has not been established as yet and police investigations are continuing. Ends
