A newly established company, AYS Cycling Solutions based in Tlokweng is determined to partner with ministries to upgrade them to achieve their objectives through the use of Electronic Bicycles (E Bikes).
The selected ministries include the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Transport and Communications and Ministry of Education and Skills Development.
In an interview, AYS Cycling Solutions operations manager, Titose Ndubo said their intention is to partner with the transport and communication ministry to encourage people to shift from using expensive modes of transport to the cheapest E Bike to reduce traffic congestion.
He added that through the partnership with the ministry, he would bring to light legislation catering for cyclists regarding the issue of cyclists’ pathways.
With the Ministry of Health as the ideal partner, he noted that the E-Bike would act as an exercising equipment suitable for everyone.
He stated the E bike also caters for those who exercise to the minimal, as it could be operated in an electronic mode, hence giving an individual a chance to relax after an exercise.
Ndumo stated that he has already contacted the Ministry of Education and Skills Development and he has been informed that there was an initiative in place where children are encouraged to go to school cycling.
He however said he was advised to forward his interest to the permanent secretary stating his interest to partner with the ministry.
“We are positive that on September we will have done campaigns with the ministries mentioned,” he said.
Giving an overview of the E-bike, he said, health wise the bicycle is ecofriendly as it does not produce any harmful fumes that can pose a threat to the ecosystem, and it also acts as fitness equipment.
He stressed that the E-bike is reliable as it is charged with electricity, and once the battery dies there is an option of paddling. Ndubo noted that when the E bike is fully electronic it can go up to a distance of 20 kilometres.
Ndumo said they order bicycles from China unassembled, and they assemble them to come up with a finished product up for sale. He added they do the maintenance of the E bikes and sell parts too. Ends
