Sankoyo Bush Bucks secure technical sponsors

11 Aug 2015

Sankoyo Bush Bucks have secured a P75 000 technical sponsorship from YOLI Sports Wear Company, a citizen-owned company in Gaborone.

The club’s sponsorship, which effected August this year, would last for a year with options for termination or renewal.

Launching the sponsorship, the club manager, Odirile Sibanda confirmed that they have entered into a partnership with YOLI Sports Wear Company as their technical sponsor.

He said securing a new sponsorship was a sign of good things to come and it showed that the team’s management was working hard.

He said the two parties would benefit equally and expressed hope that the partnership remained fruitful.

YOLI Sports Wear Company is a casual wear company and the director , Mpho Lesetedi said they realised the need to bring a new look which meant changing their brand.

Lesetedi also said though the company was still growing, it had a traceable record, having existed for some years designing beautiful kits for big teams and also supplying big firms with sportswear.

“It is the first time to sponsor a premier league team and we selected Sankoyo to show sympathy after the recent incidents where the team was relegated from the premier league and later reinstated,” he added.

Lesetedi also stated that they partnered with Sankoyo because the club had finished the last season without a sponsor adding that the team also has a big support base.

The sponsorship would include three sets of home, away and alternative kits, three sets of training kit, track-suits for 30 players and travel T-shirts.

The company is also expected to supply 500 replica jerseys in the three months and also technical support to ensure the team operated smoothly.

Sankoyo would get 40 per cent from the sales while the company gets 60 per cent. Lesetedi believed that the sponsorship would make players happy, produce good results and sustain their position in the premiership.

“The team has a lot of potential and I believe the boys would be motivated and put up a sterling performance in all their games,” he said.

Kgosi Gothaang Moalosi of Sankoyo village applauded the club’s management for a job well done.

He said they managed to secure a sponsor despite people’s criticism that the club has not been doing well.

He welcomed the partnership, saying it came at the right time when the club was in need.
Further, he said some people had been criticising the club for wearing low quality kit, adding “this time we are happy as we managed to secure a technical sponsor.”

The partnership, he added, would bring hope and would inspire the club and the people of Ngamiland. Kgosi Moalosi encouraged other companies to follow suit and sponsor local clubs. ENDS
