Mothibi attends sport leadership training

International Working Group on Women in sport (IWG) secretary general, Game Mothibi, is in the United Kingdom for the women sport leadership academy (WSLA).
A press release from IWG stated that Mothibi would take part in the second leadership academy organised by the Anita White Foundation in conjunction with Females Achieving Brilliance (FAB), and the two UK-based organisations were committed to supporting women’s leadership in sport globally.
Mothibi was identified as a potential participant and invited by the academy to take part in the programme looking at her current position and experience in sport and fully sponsored by the Anita White Foundation for her tuition.
The programme aimed at bringing together 40 outstanding women leaders, half from the UK and half from around the world, providing a unique learning environment that will support the women further develop their leadership competencies.
The overall aim of the program is to increase the confidence and competence of women working in sport in a range of leadership behaviours and also to be a starting point for forming an international network of women sport leaders.
The release states that the program has a rich content aimed at leadership behaviours or competencies that research shows to be critical to be a great leader including amongst others leadership, Performance management, Self-management, Communication, team and partnership working.
Furthermore the program consists of a number of elements all of which are essential for the critical learning and development that will take place during the WSLA including Workshops, personal development plans and home teams, networking support groups, and physical activities. ENDS
