Ngaka encourages Sorilatholo residents to be patient

Member of Parliament for Takatokwane, Mr Ngaka Ngaka has told residents of Sorilatholo to exercise patience as Rome was not built in a day.

Addressing a kgotla meeting recently, Mr Ngaka said developments would not all come at same time, hence the need to be patient.  

He encouraged them to utilise Ipelegeng programe to build staff houses and also informed them that drought assessment by government was ongoing.Mr Ngaka advised farmers to register for keeper card at veterinary offices to enable them purchase livestock feeds and vaccines from Livestock Advisory Centres.

He also urged them to utilise government programmes such as Youth Development Fund, LIMD, women’s grant and poverty eradication. The legislator also informed residents about the Matimela Act review, adding that Matimela costs government lots of money.

Parliament, he said, had approved a motion calling for the restructuring of CEDA young Farmers Fund, which would be called Youth Entrepreneurship under the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture.

The fund, he added would cater for amongst others ICT and tourism and others.In his welcome remarks, Kgosi Mr Olebetse Phemelo of Sorilatholo asked government to gravel Khudumelapye-Sorilatholo road and provide staff houses.

He thanked the Takatokwane legislator for always updating them on new bills and government initiatives aimed at uplifting their lives. One of the residents, Mr Nkwane Baruti requested LAC’s to deliver their products quarterly at Sorilatholo because they are far from such services.

He also requested that Matimela be moved to Ministry of Agriculture for easy livestock traceability. ENDS
