Passion commitment can improve odds of success

Batswana have been urged to nurture small and newly established businesses so that they grow to become independent and sustainable.
Speaking at the Kanye Market Day on Tuesday, a prominent Kanye based business woman, Mrs Gontekanye Keaikitse said it was necessary to provide a sheltered and protective environment so that businesses have chances of survival during the most difficult times at initial stages.
Taking the theme of the day: Letsema le Thata ka Mong into consideration, she encouraged her business counterparts to be patient and and committed when running their businesses.
She advised them to save money and refrain from unnecessary spending which would ultimately swallow all the profits. Giving a testimony, she said her businesses started small with limited cash, but through determination, she can now share her success story with others
Another business woman, Ms Belinda Lekone said she started her necklace business with little knowledge on business management. However through training and mentoring she received from the Local Enterprise Authority, she said now she enjoys fruits of her labour.
Specially elected councillor Mr Boikhutso Disele appealed to Batswana to always consult and seek assistance from those who have been running businesses. The councillor who is also BOCCIM chairperson in the district encouraged Batswana to run profitable and sustainable businesses.
Different businesses people who graced the occasion showcased and sold their products which included vegetables, dresses, shoes, chairs and fruit trees. ENDS
