Financial woes hit Tafic

24 Dec 2012

The seasonal financial distress at Tafic has once again reared its ugly head.

The youthful squad previously boycotted their game against Motlakase, which was to be played in Selebi Phikwe with only five players travelling.

Although Tafic honoured the game against Miscellaneous on December 22, it was evident that the players were not eager to play for neither a win nor a draw.

Coach Dominic Changwe said the misunderstanding between the players and management was disadvantaging the team, adding that preparing for a game needed commitment from both sides.

He said a situation where players held the club at ransom by not coming for training, made work difficult, particularly at a stage where every point was crucial to sustaining good log standing.

He said he was aware that the players had not received their salaries for about three months, but advised them to follow proper channels to get their dues.

Changwe said there was need to instill discipline in the team.

Tafic team manager, Master Mbulawa acknowledged that there was financial trouble at the club, which he said was communicated to the players prior to the past games.

Mbulawa also said the players were informed of the payment plan.

He said it was unfortunate that some members of the executive were not forthcoming when it came to raising funds for the team, adding that such persons also claimed that funds were being misused.

Mbulawa promised that the players will be paid before going for the Christmas break. ENDS
