Notwane add to Rollers woes

Notwane Football club added to Township Rollers woes by beating them 1-0 in a beMOBILE game played Wednesday night (February 18) at the National Stadium.
Notwane made their intentions of winning the game clear on the third minute of the game, when their Zambian international, Zebron Njobvu opened the score sheet after exposing Rollers defence.
Surprisingly, Rollers never attempted to respond to the attack as they continued to play with no sense of urgency giving Notwane room to continue with their attack.
On the 10th minute of the game, Ma-Cat launched yet another attack, but their good move was cleared by Simisane Mathumo forcing a corner kick which Notwane failed to convert.
Notwane continued to pile pressure on Rollers by advancing forward looking for a cushion goal when on the 19th minute Lemogang ‘Ntoche’ Maswena received a good cross from Langa Mbuli and failed to increase the score line although he was only left with the goal keeper to beat.
The game went into recess with Notwane on the driving seat.
After recess, even though they were trailing, Rollers continued with their sluggish pace giving Notwane chance to pile more pressure on them though lack of composure in the box cost them. On the 81st minute, Notwane suffered a major blow after their utility player; Maswena was sent to early shower for a second bookable offence.
Popa failed dismally to capitalise on their opponents’ shortage, leaving Notwane to dictate terms.
After the game, Rollers coach, Madinda Ndlovu said his side played “exceptionally well” as they created a lot of scoring chances which they failed to utilise. He said Rollers played most of their game in their opponents half a sign that they were mounting a lot of pressure.
“We lost the game after out defender blundered and gave away that goal.
Honestly it was difficult to turn around the results of a team that is hungry for a win,” he said. Notwane coach, Tiragalo ‘Sheleng’ Mogorosi said he was happy with the results on the day and commended his players for putting up a brave fight.
“Big teams like Rollers are always easy to beat because we know their play as they never change their game plan; they always use their wings,” he said.
