CEDA forensic report will not be made public
16 Feb 2015
The Assistant Minister of Trade and Industry, Mr Sadique Kebonang, says investigations by Directorate on Economic Crime and Corruption (DCEC) on the 2011 Citizen Entrepreneurial Development Agency (CEDA) forensic report have been concluded and no further action is required as allegations of criminality have not been substantiated.
He told Parliament that his ministry did not see the worth in making the report public and that CEDA had put in place policies relating to whistle blowing and corruption prevention.
Mr Kebonang noted that CEDA board had instituted administrative arrangements and continued to monitor the issue raised by the report to ensure that there is non-occurrence.
“These includes implementation of PPADB requirements into internal policies like confirmation of funds, type of contract, evaluation methods, de-briefing of bidders verification that all policies have been duly escalated and approved by the Board and exploring other human resource grading systems options other than the Hay and differential pay between Operations and Support Services ,” he said.
Selebi Phikwe West MP, Mr Dithapelo Keorapetse had asked the minister to state if the 2011 CEDA forensic report will be made public and if not, to state reasons thereof. He had also asked what action has been taken regarding the implementation of the recommendations arising from the report. ENDS
