Notwane, which have been struggling since the beginning of the season, hope to turn things around after signing new players in the just ended transfer window .
Sechaba, well known for producing top players, decided to mix experienced players with youthful ones in order to form a formidable combination. In the past, the team lost players to other clubs, but in this transfer they did not lose any of their valuable players.
The club signed the experienced Amos ‘Shoes’ Godirwang from BMC, Lewis Sekwainyana and Mookamedi Diegang both from Motlakase Power Dynamos while Thongbotho Kabelo came in from Letlapeng.
Notwane also secured three foreign players; Lazarus Rundofa from FC Harare in Zimbabwe, Terry Sithembile Mbuqe from Happy Hearts in South Africa and Zebron Njobvu from Lime Hotspurs in Zambia. Langa Mabuli and Kitso Tlhowe were recalled from loan at UB Hawks.
In an interview, the head of communications at Notwane, Ace Mooki said they were satisfied with the players they had signed. He said they believed that they had bought quality players. Mooki however said financial constraints had restricted them from getting more quality players.
About the new acquired players, he said, “they are young, they are here to explore, learn and impress. The new players have adapted to the new environment and they were present during Notwane’s weekend win over Extension Gunners.”
Mooki said they brought in experienced players to push and motivate young players but the main focus remained on the youth as per the club’s mission.
The team also released a total of 14 players on permanent deals and some on loan. They are Pako Gaofose, Emmanuel Machinya, Tumelo Mcdonald Nshakiwa, Saukani Zulu, Kebaletetse Pelaelo, Keitshephile Mbasela, Ontiretse Kolobe, Sabata Mmakgaka, Otsile Molefe, Goitsemodimo Segwabe, Busang Maemo Roberts, Tlhalefang Molefe, Mogomotsi Ditshotlo and Emmanuel Keofitlhetse.
Regarding the released players, Mooki said a lot of them were average players therefore the club had to let them go.
Concerning the players sent out on loan, Mooki said most of them were young players therefore they wanted to give them game time in other teams. “They will come back to us,” he said. Notwane are sitting on the 12th spot with 18 points in the be Mobile Premier League from 18 games. ends
