Reception for schools with surplus classrooms
05 Feb 2015
Ministry of Education and Skills Development has introduced a reception class programme in government primary schools with surplus classrooms.
Assistant Minister Moiseraele Goya told Parliament that the programme was being rolled out to other schools progressively as and when surplus classrooms become available and budget considerations allow
He said the schools were selected by the regional education authorities in collaboration with their councils in local authorities. “Schools which do not have surplus classrooms are expected to continue with standard one orientation programme as introduced in 2012,” he said.
Mr Goya said government has not made a decision to start building pre-schools and as such there are no plans to build pre-schools in the Jwaneng-Mabutsane Constituency.
He further said currently there are four public primary schools in the Jwaneng-Mabutsane Constituency offering the programme.
These are Kgalagadi, Sekoma, Kokong and Mokhomma Primary Schools.Mr Goya was responding to the question from Jwaneng–Mabutsane MP Mr Shawn Ntlhaile, who had asked the minister to state the number of pre-school classrooms or pre-schools that would be built in the Jwaneng-Mabutsane Constituency. ENDS
