Church must help improve lives

02 Dec 2014

United Congregation Church of Southern Africa (UCCSA) overseer for Ntlhantlhe congregation, Pastor Gasegodira Kaboeamodimo has called on the church to take its rightful place in society and complement government efforts to better the lives of Batswana.

He said on the sidelines of the church service for harvest in Ntlhantlhe on November 30 that the church’s role in shaping up the national vision was crucial. “We must self-introspect and shoulder the responsibility of revamping defunct ministers’ fraternal,” he said.

Functioning ministers’ groupings, according to the pastor acted as a catalyst for the church to reach-out to members of the society. Such a platform, he maintained, helped to ease flow of ideas that could improve livelihoods of Batswana.

Pastor Kaboeamodimo hastened to point out that from time immemorial; the church contribution towards the development of Botswana was indisputable.

He said for instance, the church had been in the forefront facilitating the education and health of nation through construction of schools and health facilities across the length and breadth of Botswana.

About the harvest, Pastor Kaboeamodimo commended all that raised P8 000 which would go towards the construction of the minister’s house in Ntlhantlhe. He said a lot could be done without having to solicit for assistance from elsewhere if the saints could maintain the spirit of giving as per the dictates of the scripture.

Congregants also contributed five bags of maize. ENDS
