Sankoyo get three points

The be Mobile Premier League rookies, Sankoyo Bush Bucks, amassed the much needed three points from their encounter against Letlapengon November 22.
The Ngurungu Boys, as they are affectionately called by their fans, beat Ramotswa-based Letlapeng 6-2. Though scotching heat of Mau did not dampen the morale of both teams as they all showed commitment from the start of the match.
Sankoyo however had an upper hand through out the entire game, showing their intention to win. Their efforts were rewarded in the 15th minute when Morris Ruzivo scored a brilliant goal from outside the box. In the 27th minute, Modiredi Matengu headed home a second goal from a corner. Another chance was created for the Ngurungu Boys to get a third goal in the 40th minute but Ruzivo failed to convert.
Ngurungu maintained thier lead until half time. In the second half, both teams showed renewed vigour to put up a spirited fight and Letlapeng made changes that transformed their play as they created more chances but failed to get goals.
Ngurungu on the other hand continued their onslaught when Ruzivo scored a brace in the 60th minute. Gaongalelwe Dipateletso scored the fourth goal 20 minutes later and hardly two minutes after his goal, Letlapeng’s Tinashe Masika scored their first goal.
In the 84th minute, Sankoyo’s Wabuya Aebe scored the fifth goal followed by another five minutes later through Dipateletso. Letlapeng were awarded a penalty in the 90th minute which they converted for their second goal and that signalled an end of the game at a 6-2 score line.
The winning coach, Philani Mabhena praised his boys for a job well done noting that they had expected to that to happen. Mabhena said in their past matches, they missed many chances to get goals but this time his new 4-4-2 formation worked wonders for his team.
He also said although the weather was not favourable, his players fought hard to get the three points. Letlapeng coach, Nelson Olebile gave credit to Sankoyo players for their win noting that they deserved it.
He said his boys gave their opponents more time and that made things simple for them. “My players looked tired, there was no unity amongst them or determination while our opponents showed commitment and unity,” he added.
Olebile also pointed out that his players marked very late in the first half because they were tired due to the distance they travelled. Notwithstanding, he said they would work on their mistakes in future and ensure they play better. ENDS
