GU humiliate Satmos

Concentration lapse especially in the second half helped Gaborone Unitedburry FC Satmos for the second time in a space of four days, courtesy of Benson Shilongo and Kgololo Kgogobi.
GU humiliated Satmos 3-0 in a be Mobile encounter played at the National Stadium on Wednesday evening (November 5).
The two side met on November 1, in a top eight competition and GU managed to beat FC Satmos with the same score margin. The two sides will meet again in the top eight second leg in Molepolole on November 9.
GU started the game at a high pace, dictating terms to the visitors, and had more chances which they failed to utilise, more especially in the first half. However, they managed to take an early lead on the 8th minute of the game, through Namibian international Benson Shilongo.
Although Satmos tried to move with the ball, they ended up losing it especially in the central and that alone helped GU unleash counter attacks.
On the other side, GU’s strength was on the flanks, where Mandla Mgadla and Kgololo Kgogobi were running, but credit should go to Satmos Bokamoso Digwere who managed to read his opponents game plan and managed to close Kgogobi’s flank and GU were forced to use only one flank.
The game went into recess with GU leading, one nil but after halftime break, Digwere gave Kgololo more room to maneuverer and on the 50th minute, he managed to score the second goal for the Money Machine, after Satmos defenders failed to clear the ball.
The goal seemed to have rubbed the Selebi Phikwe side the wrong way, as they started to move forward in an effort to reduce the score margin, but that was never to be because both GU defenders and goalkeeper were always on alert.
As Satmos was trying hard to match their opponents, Kgololo increased Satmos woes by scoring the third goal and last goal of the game. After the game, FC Satmos coach, Kgosietsile Jacob said concentration lapses cost his team, adding that GU started the game at a high note and were a step ahead of his team.
“Look at the first goal, we conceded on the 8th minute of the game, the second one it was five minutes after break, it clearly shows that it was just concentration lapse but I will talk to the players about the error,” he said.
Jacob said again what was their down fall on the day was that they were a bit thin in terms of attacking, adding it was something that they will address as a matter of urgency, given that there is no how a team can score without more players moving forward.
He said apart from lapses, in terms of play, although his side is a bit erratic, there was an improvement on the way they played with GU in their last encounter. His counterpart, Rahman Gumbo said the game was difficult, but lack of confidence on the side of their opponents helped his team to win the encounter.
“We played this team some days ago, and they made two or three changes but they lacked confidence hence we managed to punish them,” he said. Gumbo gave credit to his side saying they played as a unit, adding they have also started to understand his philosophy.
In other game played yesterday, Police X1 earned three valuable points after beating Motlakase Power Dynamos one nil at SSKB. The goal was scored by Gilbert Baruti on the 50th minute of the game.
Mochudi Centre Chiefs played to a one all draw with BMC at Molepolole, while at Selebi Phikwe, Nico United and Notwane also played to a one all draw. Ends
