Three more points for BDF X1

21 Oct 2014

BDF X1 earned three points after walking over FC Satmos in a be Mobile encounter at SSKB on October 18.

For the first 15 minutes, it was very difficult to detect which team had an upper hand because both sides matched each other on ball retention, speed and tactical awareness. One could just assume that because it was hot, the army boys were just “saving the best for last.”

On the 32th minute, Vincent Zombe sent a strong message to Satmos veteran goalkeeper, Kagiso Tshelametsi who forced a corner kick.

BDF X1 increased the pace of the game, which started at a low tempo, and it did not come as a surprise when Phomolo Keimetswe opened the score sheet on the 44th minute to put the host on the driving seat.

The game went into a recess with BDF X1 leading 1 nil, but after recess, the army side revealed their true colours, as they visited Satmos goal post searching for another goal, but Tshelametsi was always alert.

On the 65th minute, BDF X1 coach introduced Mokgathi Mokgathi and pulled out Lesego Lubinda. Mokgathi gave his team-mate a good shape and two minutes after his introduction he passed a good ball to Nzombe, who was left with the goalkeeper to beat, but as usual, Tshelametsi was ready.

Sensing trouble, Satmos coach pulled out Lovers Mofokeng and replaced him with the young and vibrant, Katlego Mpoeleng who nearly caused havoc, but it was not their day.

On the 82nd minute of the game, Kabelo Seakanyeng who came in as a substitute scored a cracker from an acute angle to make it 2 nil and ultimately gave the army boys three points.

After the game, Satmos coach, Kgosietsile Jacob said he used four new defenders at the back, adding that although they lost he was adamant that at least they fought, he promised to continue working hard at the training.

He said his side was affected by last week’s break, “It killed our rhythm, and again this coming week end they will be no premier league activities, honestly it kills the momentum of the game,” he said.

BDF X1 coach, Elijah Chikwanda concurred with Jacob that the Premier League break had killed the rhythm of the game, he however said he was happy with his players performance of the day, because they played according to instructions.

There will be no premier league games this weekend, and according to Botswana Premier League, chief executive officer, Bennett Mamelodi his office took that decision to give registered players a chance to go and exercise their fundamental right to vote in the general election. ENDS
