Fighters Giants share spoils

13 Oct 2014

Killer Giants were held to a one-all draw by Mogoditshane Fighters on Saturday afternoon (October 11) at Siga ground in Ramotswa.

Fighters was the first to find the back of the net through a penalty kick by Malebogo Ntebogang before the home side equalised minutes later through Rapelang Moeti. The Samba Boys, as Mogoditshane Fighters are affectionately known, had control of the game from first few minutes of the first half as they pressurised the home side.

However, before long, Giants made a perfect comeback and took control of the game only to be let down by the lack of creativity. In an interview, Fighters assistant coach Mpho Mabogo said a draw was better than losing all the three points especially that they were the visiting side.

He said they had planned to go home with either a win or a draw because they knew that Killer Giants would be difficult to beat. “I am happy with the outcome of the match because it is what we had planned for when we started the game,” he said.

Meanwhile, coach Kinsley Makgolela of Killer Giants said he was happy with the approach his team was taking saying they took the game to the visitors. “I am pleased with the boys, they gave a brave fight because Mogoditshane Fighters is not a weak team,” said Makgolela.

However he regretted the fact that his team created numerous scoring chances but could not convert, adding that it was something they had to sort out.Ends
