BMC climb to log summit

BMC continued their good run in the be Mobile Premier League after collecting maximum points against Police XI, which took them to the summit of the log standings.
In an entertaining game played at the Molepolole Sports Complex on October 5, Police XI would know better that good play and no goals was as good as useless in the game of soccer after they outclassed their opponents, but nevertheless left the field with their heads low after they went down 0-2 to Daniel 'Chico' Nare led outfit.
The Jungle Kings managed to display an entertaining football with a string of good passes and ball possession, but only had bad finishing to blame for their loss. Their performance was well summed up by Nare in the post-match interview when he indicated that “They played good football, but we scored goals.”
Nare admitted that Police XI outclassed them throughout the game. “They kept the ball well and had a good possession. The win saw BMC climb to the summit of the log with 20 points from eight games, only a point ahead of second placed Mochudi Centre Chiefs.
Nare however, played down enquiries on whether they had the strength to withstand the pressure that accompanied the log leadership. “We know that all eyes will now be on us, but let it be known that we did not go into the league with the aim of winning the championship.
"We are still emerging from difficult times and all we want to do is avoid relegation,” he said, referring to the case of the club ownership which has been dragging in court for quite some time.
For his part, the losing coach Maitumelo 'Junior' Lotlaamoreng blamed the loss in what he said was giving too much respect to BMC by his players. “Most of the time we allowed them too much time on the ball. Our reaction time was too slow as we only reacted when we had the ball, and this coupled with the two silly goals we let it killed us” he said.
He said had it not been poor finishing on his side, they could have buried the game in the first half as they created and missed numerous opportunities.
“But this is football, and if you miss such chances, you will not win. We now have to go and sharpen ourselves for the next game because a win will be vital to maintain our current good position in the log,” he said. BMC won the game courtesy of a 19th minute scramble by Sageby Sandaka after Police XI failed to clear a corner.
After recess, Police XI continued their good play, but when their supporters were hoping for an equaliser, it was instead BMC who increased their tally through veteran striker, Kenanao “Flo” Kgetholetsile in the 68th minute to ensure that the Lobatse side goes eight games without a loss. Ends
