Green Lovers on a winning spree

Beginners in the First Division North league, Green Lovers of Serowe, continued their winning spree Saturday when they bagged three points against the veteran Tatitown Sporting Club (TASC) at the Francistown stadium.
The youthful Green Lovers won the game 3-1, scoring all the goals from behind in the last half of the game to stamp their authority against the more experienced TASC.
The Francistown based outfit took an early lead on the first half through a Mathata Lucas penalty, just before the half hour mark. Green Lovers’ defender Keabetswe Kediseng had handled the ball inside the box forcing the referee to point to the penalty spot without hesitation.
Although the rookies struggled to comprehend the style of play of their host in the first half, the second half seemed to have brought them the winning formula that initially eluded them.
It was not very long after the half time break that Pusoloso Samson leveled matters on the 50th minute, causing TASC to fumble a bit. It was clear the youngsters had now picked the pace of the game to another level as they searched for more goals.
As their performance continued to surpass that of their hosts, they were rewarded with a second goal on the 73rd minute by Moatlhodi Ralesota.
The third goal came in through Tumo Keiketlile druing the referee, Tebogo Steven’s additional time, making the score sheet read 3-1 at fulltime in favour of Green Lovers.
After the game, the losing coach Boinyana Galebowe said his players were not fit for the game: “Some of my First-Eleven players were absent from the game without any communication,” he said in an interview.
Galebowe said he had to make do with second choice players who had not been doing well at training sessions due to injuries in particular.
On the other hand, the winning coach, Othusitse Kootswele said his team had to adapt to TASC’s play in the first half, before invading and taking advantage of their weaknesses. However, Kootswele accused the referee for being too lenient on the opponents who were rough on his players.
He said they had to play with cautious minds as six of his players are seating on yellow cards, which they received during an away game played against Maun Tigers.
Green Lovers are seated on position three with 21 points from nine games, while TASC is behind with 13 points from 10 games. ENDS
