Centre Chiefs want league

24 Aug 2014

Mochudi Centre Chiefs coach, Mike Sithole says  his players are aiming to win this season’s championship following their 3-1 win against Notwane on Saturday, August 23 at SSKB play grounds.

In an interview, Sithole said he was happy that his players understood his philosophy given that they played all the games according to instructions.

He said after the Kabelano Charity Cup, his players showed signs of concentration and eagerness to win the championship.

Sithole said in his effort to continue staging good performance, he converted Lesego Galenamotlhale to a defensive midfielder and that bore fruits in terms of bringing stability in the area. Furthermore, he said what gave him hope was the fact that, although he had assembled a completely new defence, the team still performed exceptionally well.

“Although we are eyeing the championship, we will take every game as it comes. Our performance in the ground speaks volumes. We are used to winning the league,” he said.

During the game, Centre Chiefs were not a threat to Notwane in the first minutes of the game, given that “Ma Cat” managed to contain them and managed to score their first goal on the 40th minute through Lemogang Maswena.

However, Notwane celebration was cut short by Magosi as they managed to score an equalising goal within a space of one minute by Bonolo Fraizer.

The game went into recess with score line reading 1-1, but after half time, Chiefs managed to show a lot of character, pressing forward forcing Notwane to make some defensive errors.

On the 51st minute of the game, Centre Chiefs’ “wonder kid” Senatla “Ayanda” Molefe scored the second goal for Magosi after Notwane defender and their goal keeper failed to communicate.
As if that was not enough, on the 64th minute, Lemponye “FC” Tshireletso scored the third and the last goal of the game, to make it 3-1.Notwane coach, Innocent Morapedi said the team he was using comprised young players, adding that they lost the game because his side committed school boy errors.

He however said not all was lost because he would continue to show them the importance of concentrating in the box.

Meanwhile in Molepolole, Township Rollers registered their first victory by winning one nil against BDF XI, in Maun Police XI forced a 2-1 victory against Sankoyo Bush Buck.

Nico United beat FC Satmos  one nil in a game that was played in Selibe Phikwe, BMC managed to earn three valuable points after winning against Orapa United 2-1 while Extension Gunners lost against BR Highlanders 2-1 on Friday, August 22.
