Serowe Lewis Furnisher Store has donated furnisher worth P82 500 to Serowe SOS Village.
The furnisher included four gas stoves, three fridges, four freezers, four washing machines and five three-piece lounge suites.
Speaking at the handing over ceremony, Lewis stores regional controller, Mr Edson Lungisani said they were showing commitment and the determination to serve the community they resided in.
Mr Lungisani said although they were a furnisher shop, they also helped in building a united, compassionate, just and caring nation through their socio-economic unit. He said the presents would go a long way in improving the lives of the SOS children and their care givers.
He said they realise the importance of helping their fellow countrymen, adding that the furnisher they had given would give them the dignity they deserve.
For her part, Serowe SOS Village coordinator, Ms Reginah Mfila applauded Lewis for donating furnisher to them, adding that their reserved funds would be used to clothe the children.
Ms Nfila said raising children was a challenging job and that the involvement of different stakeholders such as Lewis Stores demonstrates the level of commitment that was attached to sustainable personal development.
Ms Mfila said they had about 110 children who reside at the village. She said the youngest were two, two-months babies who need the care and love of guardians.
She noted that children at the SOS Village succeed in life just like any other children in the community and that through the support they get from companies they manage to raise them into responsible citizens.
She applauded and complimented Lewis stores customers for supporting the store as it was through them that they were able to give to the needy, adding that they promise to use the furnisher well. ENDS
