Volleyball coaches unhappy with fixtures

Some ladies volleyball team coaches have expressed displeasure at what they termed ‘last minute changes’ to the fixtures.
In a post-match interview after Kutlwano ladies team thrashed Mahalapye-based Mag Stimela 3-0, Maboka Molefi of Mag Stimela said despite the first round going relatively well, his team has been affected by last minute changes to the fixtures in the second round.
Molefi called on those responsible to address the problem and ensure that it does not recur in the second round. Not only was Molefi concerned with last minute changes to fixtures, but she was also worried by the dwindling number of ladies teams in the league.
To address the challenge, the Mag Stimela coach appealed to sponsors to assist teams to ensure their continued survival in the league. “We need to have at least a ladies team in Palapye, Selebi Phikwe and Serowe,” said Molefi.
Kutlwano coach, Isaac Samuel also reiterated the fixtures concern, but said he was grateful at the playing facilities. He also called on the administration to address the last minute cancellations before the second round kicks off.
“We prepare based on our opponents weaknesses and strengths and making late changes affects us,” he said, adding that his players were committed and needed to be informed of changes well in time. As for his team’s performance, Samuel was happy that his team managed to bounce back after their defeat by BDF VI in their first game.
In the men’s games, Kutlwano thrashed Serowe-based Tanian 3-0. Tanian played without their coach and looked like a side without motivation.
Kutlwano smashed Mag Stimela 3-0. In other games, Police VI outsmarted Diphatsa in a nail-biting game. Police won the first set 25-19, the second 34-32 and the third 27-25. ENDS
