14 Jul 2014
Teemane employee society has recently donated 54 blankets to the paediatric ward of Sekgoma Memorial Hospital to ease blankets shortage at the hospital.
Speaking during the handing over ceremony, the hospital Superintendent, Dr George Simwanza stated that the cost of providing health services was a mammoth task that could not be archived by government alone.
Dr Simwanza said that it was paramount that members of the community like Teemane employee society extended a helping hand in efforts to assist government to accomplish its obligations.
He underscored that the hospital was faced with many challenges and amongst them were shortage of linen. The donation, worth P5 000.00, he said would go a long way in trying to address some of the hospital challenges.
Dr Simwanza said through the gesture, Teemane employee society had demonstrated the pillar of the vision 2016 of compassionate just and caring nation.
“It goes without saying that we would not be what we are today had it not been for the support we received from our fathers, mothers, guardians, brothers and sisters and indeed a supporting community at large as the case may be” said the hospital Superintendent.
Hospital matron, Ms Pamela Lebodi who acknowledged the shortage of blankets at the hospital stated that the donation to the children’s wing would not only benefit the children as the money that would have been spent on them would be used on other wards. ENDS
