The Botswana Public Officers Pension Fund (BPOPF) has launched its revamped website.

Chairperson of BPOPF board of trustees, Mr Rapula Okaile said the significant role played by the website could not be over emphasised, adding that access to the website was not restricted.

Mr Okaile pointed out that the website was revamped to create awareness that BPOPF was an entity on its own and did not depend on other service providers.

He said as a defined contribution fund, they valued member education and communication. Mr Okaile said the website provided information on officer’s retirement benefits and had the latest security features. 

He further noted that it was supported by the latest technologies like the iPad and had advanced functionalities such as incorporation of search tools that made it easier for members to access information.

Unlike the old website, the revamped website was compatible with the latest browser version and was an example of the significant evolution that the fund had gone through over the last six years.

In her welcome remarks, the fund general manager, marketing and communications, Ms Lesedi Moakofhi said the site was aimed at making surfing relevant to the search needs.

“All the processes are executed in a transparent business discipline to meet the brand initiatives that the fund is currently engaged in,” she explained.

Ms Moakofhi said the website would augment all the communication initiatives of BPOPF, as it embraced the latest information communication technology.

“The launch of the new website is a clear demonstration of the funds commitment to all stakeholders and to empower more than 110 000 members of the fund,” she said.

She said they were currently working on bringing on board 45 000 industrial class employees. She noted that 70 per cent of the funds assets were invested offshore, saying it was crucial that all offshore managers were in a position to access the website at the punch of a button. ENDS
