12 May 2014

Vision 2016 monitoring and evaluation officer, Mr Nonofo Mokwakwa has encouraged Batswana to be active participants and not ‘passive beneficiaries’ in all elements of the national vision.

Speaking during the handing over ceremony at Child Line Botswana on May 10, Mr Mokwakwa said the level on internalisation of Vision 2016 was still low, at around 30 per cent, despite concerted efforts and initiatives to get the nation to own it.

“The low level of ownership of Vision 2016 is not only confined to individuals but even at corporate and organisational levels,” he said. He added that the nation should redouble their efforts to leave no stones unturned in the implementation of Vision 2016.

Again, he encouraged Batswana to re-dedicate and remain committed to live the ideals and aspirations of Vision 2016.

Ctrack-Intelligent tracking company, in partnership with its clients, including, Gaborone Electronics, Chem Master, Javeria, Tile Africa, Cater Mart, Trans World Food, Allied Business Systems, ABES furniture embraced the Vision Council theme “Living the Vision, Yame le Wena” by donating items worth P80 000 to Child line Botswana.

Donations included industrial dryer and washing machine, cleaning equipment, face cloths, blankets, beds, computers, mattresses, food stuffs, toiletries, stationery, fitted kitchen material and electric stove.

Mr Mokwakwa applauded the CTrack-Intelligent Tracking Company and its clients and partners for living the vision and contributing towards building a “Compassionate Just and Caring Nation.”

He also appealed to all stakeholders to increase ownership and internalisation of Vision 2016 initiatives accordingly as well as encouraging the media to recognise those making an effort in the realisation of Vision 2016 goals.

Mr Mokwakwa also pleaded with Batswana to marshal their best energies and resources towards the realisation of 2016, saying “Seabe sa Motswana mongwe le mongwe” is the fundamental element of the equation.

Meanwhile, Ctrack-Intelligent Tracking company managing director, Mr Riaz Khonat said they were committed to giving back to the community.

He said they had made deliberate efforts to make sure that Vision 2016 aspirations were achieved.

“I hope our function will be an exemplary and motivational to other business organisations so that they can follow suite,” he said.
