Although her business of selling vegetables in Sebina might seem small, Ms Tebogo Nladzi is proud of what it has done for her.
The 39-year-old woman has achieved a lot with her small venture. She, among other things, managed to pay school fees for her two children. Ms Nladzi started her business in January 2010 with only P200 and bought vegetables that included tomatoes, onions and rape.
In the first two months, she was impressed by the profits she made and it was then that she was motivated to also make an addition of fruits which included bananas, oranges, naartjies and apples. She said she bought the fruits and vegetables from people who had gardens, mostly from Francistown and surrounding areas.
The lady has also started her own backyard garden in her home, which is still small but believes will grow with time.
She believes that she should not rely on government for everything and noted that it is always good to start with the little one has and in that way the government will only meet one half way.
Ms Nladzi said the urge to start her business came from her background she is from a family of farmers.
As a result, it was at an early age in her life that she developed the interest of farming, which she wishes to pursue in full force in future.
For now, Ms Nladzi is content with her small business as it is through it that she is able to put food on the table for herself and her two children. ENDS
