The Botswana Confederation of Commerce, Industry and Manpower (BOCCIM) recently organised a trade mission to Istanbul, Turkey to strengthen ties with international entrepreneurs.

A press release from BOCCIM stated that the recent Turkey trade mission, organised in collaboration with the South Africa Turkish Business Association was dedicated to women in business who attended the first Turkish Africa Women Entrepreneurs Trade Bridge summit

The release said the summit was to create a platform for African business women opportunities both in Turkey and Africa.

It said women in emerging and developing world were considered important in entrepreneurship development. Therefore, the release added, BOCCIM encouraged its members who were interested in expanding into international markets to use this platform.

“Moreover, we encourage a framework for cooperation of trade at all levels, as we believe Africa is the most promising continent in the world,” the release adds. “Women in Botswana are faced with challenges in running businesses, hence business summits like the trade bridge conference can offer women entrepreneurs more investment opportunities globally.” ENDS
