Toto credits Khama for Khawa challenge

Member of Parliament for Kgalagadi South, Mr David Toto has commended President Lt Gen. Seretse Khama Ian Khama for the Khawa Dune Challenge initiative that has turned the small village around.

Speaking in an interview during the annual the dune challenge over the weekend, he explained that President Khama was invited to the village a few years back and later on came up with the idea that worked wonders for the community.

He particularly appreciated the fact that President Khama has also featured in sport activities lined up for the annual show as a confirmation of his unwavering support for the initiative.

Mr Toto attributed the success of the event for the last three years since its inception to Gen Khama’s active involvement.

The Kgalagadi District Council (KDC) chairperson Mr Frans Vander Westhuizen has also applauded President Khama for having supported the initiative all the way.

Mr Westhuizen said President Khama’s presence was also an open declaration of his love and recognition for the residents of the Kgalagadi district.

A youthful Mr Olateleng Kebonye of Maun said he came all the way to see President Khama participating in the sport.

Another youth Mr Baokeditswe Moswasi of Moshupa said he also came to witness whether or not President Khama would retain his championship for the third time in a row.

Mr Boemo Kgosi of Tsabong has also commended President Khama for having seen the tourism potential of Khawa and actually being there to see it actualize. Ends
