Tsolamosese residents praise Masimolole

01 May 2014

Tsolamosese residents have showered their area MP, Mr Patrick Masimolole, with accolades for the developments in their ward during his tenure as an MP.

Speaking during a kgotla meeting on Tuesday April 29, the residents said although not all has been achieved, electricity and water provision and plot acquisition improved during Mr Masimolole as their parliamentary representative. Residents said they have seen him fight for their right to land, adding that   “during your term as our MP there has never been a yellow monster demolishing homesteads in Tsolamosese.”

Residents however, called for road maintenance, arguing that most internal roads have developed potholes and become inaccessible. Tsolamosese residents also pleaded for more public standpipes and decried slow response by the police to crime scenes.

For his part, Mr Masimolole appealed to parents to be stakeholders in the education of their children .

He said the decline in education results was caused by lack of commitment by parents as they had also shown lack of interest in attending Parents and Teachers Association meetings.

He said it was disturbing that most children never went through their children’s school work to check on their performance, or let alone ensure that they were not loafing around  during lessons and left the entire responsibility to teachers.

Insp. Thatayamodimo Mokgang of Mogoditshane Police Station said their apparent slow response to crime scenes was because  they were policing a vast area that covered Mogoditshane and surrounding villages such as Gakuto, Gabane, Metsimotlhabe, Ledumadumane and Tloaneng with limited resources. Ends
