A chief health officer, Ms Gasebotho Kedikilwe has advised mothers to always adhere to instructions given by nurses.

Ms Kedikilwe gave the advise during the launch of Africa Vaccination Week at Boseja Clinic in Maun recently.

She urged mothers to give their babies nutritional food and to refrain from feeding them snacks such as nick nacks and simba chips.

Mothers were also taken through the infant vaccination dosage programme and schedule such as the Polio as well as the Measles vaccine.

The Africa Vaccination Week was established to increase awareness and the importance of immunization services to improve the health of people.

It was launched under the theme: Vaccinated communities, healthy communities.

He said those who had missed some vaccinations would be given the opportunity to be immunised

He also advised mothers to desist from marking dates on children’s welfare cards, and that they should respect vaccination dates.

The community was also requested to welcome health officials as they would be visiting some households in Boseja ward to follow up on child welfare cards.
