MVA donates to Makolojwane school
30 Apr 2014
Motor Vehicle Accident Fund (MVA) has donated three computers and a printer to Makolojwane Primary School in Serowe.
Speaking at the handover, the MVA Palapye branch supervisor, Mr John Bunga said the donation marked the first step towards the signing of their Memorandum of Agreement, as they were in the process of adopting the school.
He noted that their visit to the school was not only for the donation but also to seek assistance from the school in disseminating road safety measures to other students.
Mr Bunga said as they deal with helping victims of motor accidents they would like the school to help spread the information, adding that in future they would feature students on road safety projects particularly that in most cases children are victims of road accidents.
For her part, chief education officer for Serowe Sub Regiom, Ms Dolly Monagen praised MVA for taking a great step of involving young children and was hopeful that would help decrease road accidents.
She urged teachers to use the computers to improve students’ performance, noting that in the region they do not accommodate the pass rate of 50 per cent but rather 80 per cent.
Giving a vote of thanks, councilor for Serokolwane ward, Mr Setlalekgosi Molefhi was also hopeful that the school would perform well and exceed the targeted 80 per cent pass rate.
Mr Molefhi thanked MVA for choosing Makolojwane over other schools from Palapye. ENDS
