DPP helps the needy

Officers of the Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP) fenced and weeded Mr Rex Mosweu’s yard in Lobatse as part of their community service day.
Assistant director of public prosecution in Lobatse, Mr Rahiman Khan said, last year, the officers provided Mr Mosweu with a security door and installed window burglar bars.
Mr Khan noted that Mr Mosweu who is a beneficiary of a house donated to the President’s Housing Appeal by Choppies group was identified through the assistance of social workers and the district commissioner’s office.
He said this year they wanted to complete the yard fencing and move to another project as a way of giving to the less privileged members of the community.
The directorate’s senior administrative officer, Ms Elizabeth Motlhanke said community service days afforded officers an opportunity to show support and care towards communities.
The funds, she said, used for purchasing the fence were raised through individual officers’ contributions. For his part, Mr Mosweu thanked the DPP for the donation, adding that there would be no trespassing by strangers or destruction to his crops by livestock. Ends
