Ipelegeng workers must work hard
21 Apr 2014
Ipelegeng workers have been encouraged to work hard and produce good results.
The senior assistant council secretary, Mr Lawrence Madzinyane said this during a kgotla meeting held in Makuta in the Tutume Sub-district.
Mr Madzinyane said Ipelegeng workers should desist from bringing babies to work and absconding from work. He said workers not feeling well should not turn up at work but rather should visit the doctors.
He said there was a tendency by some workers to feed their babies during working hours while some slept under trees claiming to be sick, adding that such attitudes would not be tolerated. Mr Madzinyane warned supervisors against marking people present when they had not turned up for duty.
He said there were also people who engaged engaged in all other programmes from Ipelegeng, baking bread for the employees and stumping for the students.
For his part, the deputy district commissioner, Mr Michael Chilimba urged residents of Makuta to work hard and be trustworthy, adding that corrupt practices would not be condoned under the Ipelegeng programme. He also encouraged them to attend kgotla meetings and to form community groups so that they could work collectively.
Mr Chilimba also suggested that they could hold a market day once in a week to sell letlhafula. Ends
