Elements of Glory donates trees
21 Apr 2014
A Gaborone-based church, Elements of Glory, has donated 15 trees to the Monarch kgotla, primary school and clinic.
Handing over the trees on Good Friday, Pastor Tony Tabona said the church had a two-day crusade at the Francistown Stadium and felt that they had to leave something behind that the church would be remembered with.
Concerning the crusade, Pastor Tabona said he was aware that there were churches in Francistown but as Elements of Glory, they were duty bound to be partakers in spreading the word of God.
Member of Parliament for Francistown West, Dr Habaudi Hubona thanked the church for choosing Monarch, noting that Monarch was one of the first locations of Francistown. Dr Hubona said it was a good thing to see trees planted because most of them were depleted as a result of developments.
She implored the residents of Monarch to take care of the trees. Monarch Primary School head, Mr Chakona Lentswe thanked the church for planting trees in his school. Mr Lentswe said the trees would benefit the 750 children in his school both through their fruits and shades.
Among the trees that were planted at the kgotla, primary school and the clinic were Moringa, which is known for its medicinal benefits and Motsentsela known for its small sweet berries. ends
