Border post extends operation hours
17 Apr 2014
The Martins Drift border post will be open for 24 hours today (April 17) and Sunday (April 20).
A press release from the Ministry of Labour and Home Affairs states that the border post will be open after its temporary closure due to floods that left the Martin’s drift bridge submerged.
Travellers between Limpopo and Botswana can now use the border”, states the release. It further says that the border will on Monday, April 21, be open until midnight.
The release says the ministry decided to extend operating hours because of the increased number of travellers at the border post during Easter holidays.
The purpose of the extension is to prepare for an effective and efficient movement facilitation of persons in and out of the country, says the release. ENDS
