Mamoja Diski raring to go

Despite their poor start, Francistown based beMobile Premier League outfit, Ecco City Greens, has promised its horde of supporters an impressive league finish.
The club’s Public Relations Officer (PRO), Mr Keletso Gomotsang has made it clear that time is now that they redeem themselves and fight for a respective position in the log to once again excite their supporters.
He said his team was so active during the January transfer window period that it discarded five of their mature players and brought in four new faces to strengthen their attacking force.
Mr Gomotsang said the quartet comprised former Motlakase talisman Thatayaone ‘Pele’ Gaokgorwe, Omaatla Kebatho from BDF IX, Batisani Josiah from Gaborone United, and an unnamed player from the teams development structure.
Interestingly, one of the released players is none other than the hitherto well-liked Malepa ‘Chippa’ Bolelelang – both a former Mascom Premier League top goal scorer and the club’s all time leading goal scorer. Chippa has since moved to Motlakase FC of Palapye.
The club’s long time attacking midfielder, Gaboratanelwe ‘Radio’ Kgosietsile, defender Gaotwesepe Legoreng, reserve goal keeper Mogakolodi Ntima, and Wabo Mungabe, are the other players the team has apparently deemed surplus.
‘‘We did not start our 2012/13 season according to plan, and we were on the wrong foot because our team did not win games as we had expected, thus we have found it fitting to transform our attacking power during the recent transfer window,’’ said the PRO.
He added that even though they were still in possession of the deadly combination of Tendai Nyumasi and Patrick Lenyeletse upfront, they figured out that they were in need of a target man who can hold the ball very well and wait for others during attack.
Mr Gomotsang noted that they brought in fresh blood upfront as an attempt to inject more pace and skill when they are on attack.
Their main target is to improve and strengthen their strikers for the second round which starts very soon, yet Ecco finds itself perched in an uncomfortable mid table position, something they are not accustomed to.
‘‘The league is still open and we have ample time to redeem ourselves and contest for the league title too. Once our goal scoring drought is solved, we believe that we can do our level best just like in the previous years,’’ added Mr Gomotsang.
The overall intension, he said was to cheer up their supporters who must now be tired of complaining because of the team’s poor performance. ENDS
