Old woman goes missing

Good Hope police are investigating a case in which an 89-year-old woman of Gaselepane cattle- post (7 km from Mmathethe) went missing on April 2.
Station commander, Superintendent Thapelo Ngiye said the old woman’s daughter who came to report the matter said she left her mother alone at home at 3 p.m. When she returned, she realised that she had disappeared, but initially thought she had gone to collect firewood which she sometimes did.
Supt Ngiye said the old woman was wearing a grey German print dress, purple blouse, and a floral head scarf and dotted black and white sleepers. She is light in complexion, medium size and mentally fit. Anyone knowing her whereabouts should contact the nearest police station.
In another case, Good Hope police are also investigating a case in which Mr Bairetswe 'Bongo' Tlamelo aged between 30 and 40 year of Lonetree ward in Metlobo went missing on April 6.
Supt Ngiye said according to reports, Mr Tlamelo left home around 800 a.m to a soccer match at Metlobo football grounds and never returned home.
The man is coffee coloured, has a thick moustache and was wearing a navy blue T-shirt with stripes, grey trousers and gumboots.
In Lobatse Police, Station Supt. Loeto Ramabokwa said that they were investigating a case in which a 75-year-old woman of Peleng died in an inferno after her house was guttered by fire while she was sleeping.
Her body was taken to the Athlone hospital from where she was transferred to Princess Marina Hospital where she was certified dead. Police investigations into the matter were ontinuing.
Mr Ramabokwa said they were also looking for the mother of a newly born baby that was found dumped in the bush opposite Hill School Primary by Ipelegeng workers.
He said anyone who knew or had seen a pregnant woman who no longer showed signs of pregnancy, but had no baby should report to nearest police station.
Meanwhile, Mr Ramabokwa noted that they were investigating a case in which two men aged between 42 and 43 of Kanye and Tonota were arrested in possession of a stolen Mercedes Benz. He said the incident took place on Saturday midnight at Pioneer Gate along the Zeerust Boarder.
The men are in police custody while investigations continue. Ends
