Tutume enjoys internet connection

Parliament has been informed that government through partnership with Botswana Telecommunications Corporation Limited (BTCL) has been rolling out broadband services within the Tutume Sub-district.
Answering a question in Parliament from MP for Tonota North, Mr Fedilis Molao, Minister of Transport and Communications, Mr Nonofo Molefhi said Tutume was fully covered with most of government office already enjoying internet connectivity and other related services.
He said the connectivity project which also catered for private connections covered other villages within the sub-district and was targeted for completion by December 2014.
Minister Molefhi said fixed and mobile services were already available within the sub-district and improvements to address quality of services and to extend network coverage are ongoing.
He further said that other service providers have presence in the sub-district, citing Mascom wireless as having rolled out its 3G broadband network.
Mr Molao had asked the minister when he intends to extend the BTCL network to Tutume village and the entire sub-district to facilitate more private connections which may improve access to internet services amongst others. ENDS
