Lightning strikes man

 A middle-aged man was fatally struck by lightning after a hailstorm swept through Old Naledi Friday afternoon.

Old Naledi Police Detective Superintendent Balebadzi Boy said the incident occurred when the deceased and two others were crossing the railway line level  after knocking off from work at Gaborone West Industrial site. 

Superintendent Boy said the man was certified dead on arrival at Princess Marina Hospital. He said one of the men suffered injuries while the other one was treated for shock and discharged the same day. 

Superintendent Boy said police investigations wre continuing and still tracing where the deceased originate. 

Still in Old Naledi, Superintendent Boy said a middle aged man was hit by a south bound train at around 2000hrs near Commerce Park. The body of the deceased is at Princess Marina Hospital awaiting post mortem.

At the time of going to press, it was not yet clear whether the man committed suicide or not.  ENDS
