Tutume tribal administration puts roof over Kuswanis head

Tutume Tribal Administration office has donated a one-roomed house to a needy person at the Selolwane kgotla.
Speaking during handover ceremony recently, the secretary in the constituency office of Member of Parliament for Nkange, Mr Ngano Kuswani discribed the incident as a gesture of compassion.
He applauded the kgotla office for their generosity and seeing it fit to assist a needy person rather than focusing only on their own welfare. He said while that seemed easy, it took a lot of effort for the project to be completed.
In addition, he said a leader in a charitable undertaking had to balance trustee requirements, fundraising requirements, employees and volunteers, societal expectations and the end user service or value. He encouraged stakeholders who work far from their homes not to forget the less privileged and reserve some time to volunteer in helping the less fortunate.
The Chairperson of the committee, Kgosi Tapson Madikwe said that the project was mooted during one of their prayer sessions.
Kgosi Madikwe said Tutume Tribal staff held prayer sessions on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, adding that the prayer sessions were utilised for praying and disseminating information concerning staff welfare.
He applauded the staff for engaging in social responsibility projects in areas where they work. Kgosi Madikwe said a minimum of P1 was contributed by staff during prayer sessions and that they decided to increase the amounting to P10 each.
“The project was also made possible by stakeholders who contributed a lot towards the completion of the compassionate project,” he said.
The beneficiary, Ms Unangoni Diara appreciated the house and said she was the only child from her mother and did not have any siblings.
Ms Diara also mentioned that she was not working and was struggling to make ends meet.
She revealed that she used to stay in a traditional mud hut and during bad weather conditions she became exposed and her safety and dignity were compromised. ENDS
