Assistant Minister for Presidential Affairs and Public Administration, Mr Gaotlhaetse Matlhabaphiri has handed over school uniform to about 1 000 pupils at Boribamo and Lewis Memorial primary schools.

Mr Matlhabaphiri said World Group of Companies had committed itself to donating school uniform to all 10 primary schools in Molepolole North in the next five years and called on parents to ensure that the uniform was properly taken care off.

He also implored parents to actively participate in the education of their children and ensure that the schools maintained their performance and do away with instances where parents used to transfer kids from Louw to other schools because of bad performance.

World Group of Companies donation per a pupil included four shirts, three socks, two pairs of trousers, jersey, tie, shoes, three t-shirts, three under-wears and clothing to wear during weekends.

For his part, Kweneng education region director, Mr Kereng Koko said the donation was an answer to Presidential call for Batswana to give dignity to less fortunate members of the society and as such the World Group of Companies’ uniform donation should go a long way in encouraging pupils to study more.

The director also said because what government gave to public schools would never be enough and had as such called for companies and individuals to adopt schools to assist in areas such as infrastructure and education and any donations will go a long way in assisting schools.

Mr Koko encouraged pupils to ensure that they study hard as a way to thank the donors who donates to encourage learning and as such will like to associate with good performers.
