 Bible Life Ministries in Serowe has donated 247 mathematical instrument sets to Mogorosi Junior Secondary School.

The church bought the sets for P3 210. The sets would be given to each student in the school in the hope that they will help the learners to improve their studies. 

Pastor Billy Chanda said they decided to partner with the school to provide the mathematical sets to the students following request by the school.

He said they also did this as a way of helping some students from less privileged families who could not afford to buy the sets. He said as a church they believed in developing the potential that God placed in children.

Pastor Chanda advised students not to be discouraged if they were from less privileged families as they were the answer to their families’ plight. He encouraged them to dream, as that was the only sure way of achieving goals.

Pastor Chanda said many students performed badly in mathematics not because they were poor at the subject, but because of shortage of instruments.

Mogorosi school head, Ms Josephine Madikwe applauded the church for donating the instruments saying donation would go a long way in improving the learner’s results.

She said due to shortage of the instruments, the school had only been providing the sets to form threes only during terms one and three. She said as a result of the shortage, forms one and two had to skip topics that needed the use of instruments and only did the topics in form three.

She encouraged the students to take care of the instruments so that their brothers and sisters at primary school could also use them. Ms Madikwe urged the form three students to study hard to exceed the 87 per cent pass rate of the class of 2013.  Ends
