Official opening of the Legal Year
The official opening of the Legal Year 2026 took place on February 3, marking the commencement of the judicial business and settting up the tone for the administration of justice in the year ahead. Adressing attendees, Chief Justice Gaopalelwe Ketlogetswe touched on a number of issues such as the expected launch of specialised commericial court in March. He also said the establishment of specialised courts strengthened the quality of judicial decisions and enabled the courts to respond effectively to the changing needs of society.
