BOTSWANA DEFENCE FORCE CHANGE IN COMMAND
The Commander in Chief of the Botswana Defence Force (BDF), President Advocate Duma Boko presided over the Change of Command at Sir Seretse Khama Barracks in Mogoditshane on Monday. The ceremony marked the handover of command from the outgoing Commander, Lieutenant General Placid Segokgo to incoming seventh Commander of the BDF, General Mpho Mophuting. The change of command follows the retirement of Lt Gen. Segokgo. General Mophuting pledged to propel the BDF, emphasising that the pillars of modernisation, justice, doctrine and frugality would define his command ethos. He underscored his commitment to shaping the BDF into a modern, accountable and people-centric institution. General Mophuting also urged members of the armed forces to remain vigilant, professional and unwavering in their loyalty to the nation.
