Serowe outfit, Miscellaneous and Ecco City Greens of Francistown redeemed themselves from last weekend loses as they played to a one-all draw at Francistown stadium on Saturday, March 22.

Tse Nala were the first to shake the net from Segolame Boy’s grasscutter in the 56th minute as Chamunorwa Madamombe and his defence failed to communicate well in the box. This was after the two sides went to the half-time break with none of them having made any sound attempt at goals.

Although Miscellaneous had an upper hand on ball possession for most of the first half, their combination upfront failed to test the Ecco defence made of Vincent Radisoeng, Keabetswe Jenamiso and Trinity Nko.

And despite receiving most balls on the right flank, Gookeditswe Kanyenvu failed to hold on to possession, allowing Jenamiso to take control of the defence and saving Ecco from any fruitful attempts from Miscellaneous.

Winning the battle in the defence as their visitors made their attacks, Atshele Molapi and his assistant Aupa Kowa combination of Omaatla Kebatho who was making his derby after a long shoulder injury and the Ghanaian international Ishmael Amponnah did not function well as they frequently lost crucial balls which they could have punished their opponents with.

Without any meaningful shots at goals, Ecco technical team was forced to make a double substitution immediately after the score of Miscellaneous by bringing in Tendai Nyamusi for Kebatho and Onkgolotse Senatla for Zecco Makafiri.

It was then that Ecco started to show their presence on the field and saving his team from another embarrassment, Nyamusi levelled the scores to make it one all on the 58 minutes.

But they could not increase their goals since they resorted to grouping in the midfield instead of pushing forward to search for more goals while Miscellaneous pushed to secure another score but were unfortunate as on the 73rd and 78th minutes respectively, Madamombe denied them goals as he fisted off their on target attempts.

In a post-match interview, Molapi said they still lack goals in their camp because often they only manage to score single goals even on situations which they could have scored more.

He nonetheless said with the presence of Kebatho, they are hopeful that as he picks his form and match fitness goals, they will start coming for the remaining fixtures. ENDS
